Yes, if you want a cleaner shower screen - that benefit is certain, and Normcore also claims more even water distribution. But a puck screen cannot fix clumps inside the coffee bed, so buy a WDT tool first if your shots channel, and choose a thin screen if your basket has little headspace.

Normcore WDT Tool V4

A WDT tool fixes the clumps that cause most channeling; a puck screen does not.
This is here because puck screens are often bought to fix channeling, and channeling usually starts somewhere a puck screen cannot reach.
Clumps inside the ground coffee leave dense and loose regions in the bed, and water routes through the loose ones. A puck screen sits on top of the bed; it does nothing about what is inside it.

The headspace catch
Espresso needs a little space between the top of the puck and the shower screen. A puck screen uses some of that space, and if the puck and screen press against the shower screen, the shot suffers.
If you add a thick screen, check the gap and reduce your dose if needed, or choose a thinner screen. That is the whole reason the 0.2 mm and 0.8 mm options exist.
